Hospital wayfinding without an app install

Hospital wayfinding projects fail at the same fence: the app. A patient attending one outpatient appointment will not install anything, so adoption stalls at single digits and the signage budget grows again. The fix is to stop requiring installation.

The route is a link

The appointment letter or SMS already reaches the patient. Put the route in it: a link that opens the venue map in the browser, starting at the right entrance, ending at the right clinic, with the lifts on the way. No account, no download, no permissions dialog.

Step-free is a default, not a feature

A meaningful share of hospital visitors cannot use stairs — and the rest are often pushing someone who cannot. Step-free routing has to be one tap, lift outages have to re-route automatically, and the directions have to be real text a screen reader can speak.

Kiosks catch the rest

For walk-ins, a lobby kiosk answers the question the front desk hears two hundred times a day, and hands the route to the patient's phone by QR code. The kiosk, the link and the phone all read the same live map — when a clinic moves, they all change together.

This is how Mapnyx treats hospitals: the map is a link, accessibility is a routing default, and the content stays true to the hospital's own records.
